Ice ♥ Cream

Comparitive Shopping Project!
Ice-cream cafes in Singapore J
For this project, we are expected to select a consumer interest (teenagers) and conduct comparitive project on it.

And so our group (Jit, Justine, Absa, Myself and Gmah) decided to work on different ice cream cafes in Singapore.

Consumer Studies

Happy 2011 !
Pardon for the long break from bloggging. J
With the new semester for year 2011, the main focus will be on consumer studies.
Yes, consumer studies is applicable not just only to our students, but in all of our daily lives. Consumer studies never stops as the world develops to match people needs and wants that are always changing. That is why, we live in such a competitive society, marketing companies are constantly generating new ideas/products with new marketing strategies to keep up with demanding consumers.
But, it is important that us as consumers manage our finances well through making informed choices. Thus, as teachers, to deliever this topic to our students, it is of utmost importance to be a smart consumer. One that is able to relate well with our students on trends that attracts them, as well as other finance part such as credit cards/bank accounts/car and housing loans to inculcate rights and responsibilities in them as a consumer. J

With that, let me share with you an Straits Times article which I came across during my one-month break:
(Perhaps a number of you have seen it before as it was on Stomp as well)

have seen it before? basically, I am not sure what purpose this huge bear-like creature thing serves. According to this website: http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_590100.html
it did not any advertising company that use this bear, perhaps it could be a prank?
Anyway, I found that using such a huge bear-like mascot as an advertisement could be useful as it attracts the attention of people who are travelling. I would definitely stop and look :D

What is your take on this?

OH yes, i received an email on advertisements that features creative approaches that is adopted by overseas marketing companies ? (Take a look J)
