What Home Econs means to our Group?

And so our First ever course module:

Home Economics Curriculum and Evaluation
kickstart with a video that displays the perception of Home Economics in the 1930s. It was a great overview, it brought us back to 1940s and make us think how Home Economics has evolved over the years

With the various changes in trends and issues that arise, Home Economics is definitely an interesting and lively subject.

What do Home Economics generally means to you?

There is definitely much more to just cooking and sewing.
Lets MAGINIFY deeper:
LOOK, there are 4 great aspects of Home Economics ,namely:
  • Food Science and  Nutrition

    • Healthy Diet Pyramid, Nutrition and Body Composition, Digestion, Food Safety and Technology
  • Baking and Cooking

    • Different Cooking Methods e.g. Moist Heat, Hot Fat, Dry - Heat, Creaming 
  • Resource and Management

    • Tangible and intangible resources
  • Design and Creativity

    • Sewing and problem-based learning
Home Economics do not just stop at these important factors,

Besides all these acquired skills, process of studying Home Economics in Secondary School will allow you to engage in
Problem-based Learning, hands-on activities and group discussions.
These exposures will allow you to gain effective entrepreneurship, good work strategies and appropriate communication skills which are vital for successful careers in the workplace.
